For my first school assignment, I took this set of photos, of people at work. But for myself, I am going back to shoot a story of the tribe that chops up meat, measure different cuts, and walk down aisles of carcasses every single day.

Abasalom & Tribe
For my first school assignment, I took this set of photos, of people at work. But for myself, I am going back to shoot a story of the tribe that chops up meat, measure different cuts, and walk down aisles of carcasses every single day.
Akin
Like countless other people, Akin escaped the political turmoil in his homeland, Cyprus, in the late 70s and came to London. He worked in an electronic store, and eventually set up his own shop, together with his wife, they have been managing the same shop for well over 30 years. With his humble business, he brought up his 3 children. The kind of sacrificial spirit and self-possession that is in Akin reminds me of my own parents. And in the 40mins that I was in photographing in his shop, I felt right at home.
